The few, the proud
The women of the U.S. Border Patrol make up about 3 percent of all agents. But that statistic doesn’t override their inherent capacity of having double the heart, double the strength and double the dedication to those of a man. It’s not just a man’s world with the Marksmanship Development Unit; it’s a woman’s, as well.
Agent Ferrer and Agent Wong enlighten us about what is behind the MWD patch. because people don’t see a lot of women shooting in these events. In that sense, we’re probably drawing a little bit of attention to ourselves for being there. But hopefully, we’re representing the Border Patrol well and bring positive attention to the sport.
When I put on my uniform, I see everyone as part of my family. Like my community, businesses, you and your family. You’re my responsibility when I put on this uniform. I forget that I have my own family, because I’m at work, and my job is to secure my nation.
