Many holsters designed for the VP9 will work with the VP40 Tactical. However, we did find that the G-code OSH RTI Kydex holster designed for the VP9 will not work. The slide on the VP40 versions is slightly larger than that of the VP9 so a rigid holster like the G-code that works with a VP9 likely will not work with any VP40 model. Flexible versions such as leather holsters should work without a problem. If you’re thinking about a holster with an enclosed bottom, make sure that it will accommodate the longer barrel of the VP40 Tactical.
For both range and tactical work, we used an Archangel Multi Caliber Holster Adjustable (HM1V2). This holster worked well in conjunction with a Bladetech Signature DMP magazine carrier.
