Easiest ever strawberry hearts!
We wanted our cake to be bakeshop-beautiful, decadently delicious and super nutritious, so we covered it with bright in-season strawberries—and turning the ruby gems into hearts adds a sweet decorative touch. The simple how-to: Reserve 25 of the largest, most center-cut slices from the batch, then carefully cut a triangle from the top portion of each slice with a sharp knife. Pipe or dot one side of the cake with frosting and press the berry hearts onto the edge of the cake, repeating until the bottom is completely covered.
