Another reason to stand up straight
Good posture can ward off fatigue, say scientists in the Journal of Behavior Therapy and
Experimental Psychiatry. In their study of 61 adults with depression, those who were asked to sit up straight, then complete a counting task reported 122 percent lower scores of fatigue after 5 minutes than those who sat however they wanted. According to the study authors, upright posture increases the production of thyroid-stimulating hormones that raise energy levels and prevent the negative thoughts that can lead to depression.
