The truth about handwashing and germs

First For Women - - Health -

Washing your hands with cool water removes just as many germs as using hot water, say scientists in the Journal of Food Protection. When people washed their hands in 60°F, 79°F and 100°F water, there was no significant difference in the amount of bacteria removed. What did make a difference: lathering with soap since the friction of rubbing your hands together plus the soap itself helps separate bacteria from the hands.
