Quickly de-gunk an old cookie sheet

Your bak­ing sheets have got­ten a lot of use over the years—and they’ve got the rust and grime to show for it. To clean, fill your sink with hot wa­ter and add 1⁄ cup each of bak­ing soda and vine­gar.


Sub­merge the pan and let soak for 30 min­utes; scrub with steel wool and rinse off. The bak­ing soda and vine­gar form a bub­bly mix that loosens gunk, and vine­gar’s acetic acid dis­solves residue.
