Surprise! Frozen orange juice healthier than fresh
That’s the word from researchers at Spain’s University of Seville. As their study of different juice-preparation methods demonstrated, the antioxidants in orange juice that is frozen and then thawed are more easily absorbed by the body. Similar studies conducted by a separate research team in Spain have revealed that freezing fresh juice improves antioxidant activity by 53%—and that boost can increase energy, strengthen the immune system and help soothe health-sapping inflammation.
