Breitling’s DC-3 in Septem­ber en­tered the record books by be­com­ing the old­est air­plane to cir­cum­nav­i­gate the globe. The jour­ney be­gan last March in France, span­ning 210 days with 50 stops along the way. The 77-year-old air­plane touched down 13 times in the United States in July and Au­gust, in­clud­ing a visit to Oshkosh, be­fore con­tin­u­ing east­bound over the North At­lantic to ar­rive back in Europe. We met up with the crew on its stopover in New York, where the famed Swiss watch­maker hosted us at a party at the Breitling Bou­tique on Madi­son Av­enue. Five hun­dred lim­ited-edi­tion Nav­itimer Breitling DC-3 watches that made the jour­ney aboard the air­plane go on sale this fall.
