A look at Alphachocks, the company trying to reinvent the aircraft chock

Flying - - CONTENTS -

The idea behind Swiss- made Alphachocks is to provide wheel chocks that can easily be carried inside an airplane for use at remote airports where service is limited. The foldable chocks are made from forged aluminum for strength and lightness. Because they fold fl at, they can be stored on the baggage- compartment fl oor or even inside a fl ight bag. When ready for use, the chocks open into a triangular shape that locks into place when the handle is pushed into position. Removing the chocks requires just a gentle tug on the handle to unlock the mechanism and remove it from the tire. $370 per set at alphachocks.com.
