46. Leonard Lauder
The eldest son of the makeup maven Estée, he joined his mother’s eponymous company in 1958 and rose to CEO in 1982. Before stepping down in 1999, he created Estée Lauder’s first R&D lab, launched brands Clinique and Origins and led such acquisitions as MAC and Aveda. He’s still on the board today, while his son William is executive chairman. The stock is up 22% in the past year.
