In­gram ran her fam­ily’s dis­tri­bu­tion and ma­rine com­pany, In­gram In­dus­tries. She took it over in 1995 af­ter her hus­band Bron­son died. She quickly spun off its com­puter dis­tri­bu­tion busi­ness into pub­licly traded In­gram Mi­cro (bought by China’s HNA Group for $6 billion in De­cem­ber 2016). Martha stepped down as chair­man in 2008, leav­ing sons Or­rin and John to run the busi­ness. An­other son, David, is chair­man of In­gram En­ter­tain­ment, an in­de­pen­dent firm that dis­trib­utes DVDS and videogames.
