The brothers’ fortunes keep growing fatter thanks to Chick-fil-a’s industry-best per-store sales—accomplished despite a stubborn commitment to remaining closed on Sundays. Dan (chairman and CEO) spends much of his time traveling the country, visiting stores and attending grand openings. Bubba (executive vice president) runs the company’s Georgia-based Truett’s Grill restaurants. Their father, Truett Cathy (d. 2014), opened his first fried chicken shack in 1967. Today the nearly $8 billion (sales) business has more than 2,200 company-owned and franchised locations throughout the U.S.
