Shares of his soft­drink com­pany Na­tional Bev­er­age, best known for Lacroix seltzer, bub­bled up more than 125% in the past year. The son of a Penn­syl­va­nia coal miner, Ca­porella worked as a con­trac­tor af­ter high school and later be­came the CEO at tele­com and cable com­pany Bur­nup & Sims. He founded Na­tional Bev­er­age in 1985 and over the years ac­quired such brands as Shasta, Sun­dance Nat­u­rals and Lacroix.
