He later found suc­cess in ra­dio sta­tions, cable tele­vi­sion, mo­bile tele­com and en­ergy—most notably sell­ing Metro Mo­bile to Bell At­lantic for $2.6 billion in 1992 and nat­u­ral-gas pipe­line out­fit South­ern Union to ri­val En­ergy Trans­fer Eq­uity for $5.7 billion in 2012.
