His Coop­er­man Col­lege Schol­ars pro­gram of­fers merit-based fi­nan­cial as­sis­tance to hun­dreds of prospec­tive col­lege stu­dents. A Wall Street vet­eran, he still runs his Omega Ad­vi­sors hedge fund, which man­ages $3.7 billion. In­vestors with­drew most of Omega’s as­sets af­ter the SEC filed civil in­sider-trad­ing charges in Septem­ber 2016 against Coop­er­man, which he set­tled in May with­out ad­mit­ting wrong­do­ing. He agreed to pay $4.9 mil­lion in fines and penal­ties.
