Even­tu­ally he ran US Air­ways Group as its chief ex­ec­u­tive for 3 years un­til 2001. Most of Gang­wal’s for­tune comes from his 37% stake in In­ter­globe En­ter­prises, par­ent com­pany of Indigo, the listed bud­get air­line he co­founded in 2006.
