Doris, who served as the re­tailer’s mer­chan­diser for years, left Gap’s board the year Don died but re­tains a 6% stake. Her 3 chil­dren are bil­lion­aires, but John is the only one on The Forbes 400, thanks to his stake in Gap and ma­jor­ity own­er­ship of the Oak­land A’s base­ball team. The Fish­ers are big sup­port­ers of the KIPP Foun­da­tion, which trains teach­ers for the KIPP Pub­lic Char­ter School Net­work.
