En­ter Za­pier, which helps cus­tomers like Net­flix and NASA speed up their work by con­nect­ing apps like Drop­box, Gmail and Slack. Started seven years ago by CEO Wade Foster and two co­founders in Mis­souri as a side pro­ject to his home­loan-busi­ness day job, Za­pier has 170 em­ploy­ees and $35 mil­lion in an­nual re­cur­ring rev­enue but no phys­i­cal o ce, and has reached 2 mil­lion users while rais­ing just $1.3 mil­lion in out­side fund­ing. — Elis­a­beth Brier
