In his lat­est film, “Dr. Pomer­antz,” Is­raeli cinema’s en­fant ter­ri­ble Assi Dayan pushes the coun­try’s Ashke­nazi elite into its grave, lit­er­ally and fig­u­ra­tively. The ti­tle char­ac­ter, played by Dayan him­self, is a clin­i­cal psy­chol­o­gist who thinks that it’s time that all his pa­tients — chil­dren of Is­rael’s great ide­o­logues and war heroes — kicked the bucket.
