Israel and the United States
There can be no question that the United States and Israel are the closest of allies, though there are some – fortunately not too many – who believe (or try to make others believe) that Israel is a burden, rather than a boon, to our country. But Israel is indeed a major strategic asset for the United States; some have called it “our country’s unsinkable aircraft carrier” in that volatile part of the world. Israel is a major partner in the fight against Islamo-fascist terrorism. We analyze the relationship between our two countries in our hasbarah (educating and clarifying) message “Israel and the United States,” on page 6 of this issue of the Forward. We publish monthly hasbarah messages like this in major national media, magazines and metro newspapers, major campus newspapers, small-town papers, and Jewish publications. We send them every month to every member of Congress — Representatives and Senators. Our purpose is “. . . the research and publication of the facts regarding developments in the Middle East and exposing false propaganda that might harm the interests of the United States and its allies in that area of the world.” We are a San Francisco-based 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization and hope that you will support our important work of bringing the truth about Israel and the Middle East to the attention of the American public.
