The 7th an­nual 2020 Lead­ing Women’s So­ci­ety Awards is tonight. Each year, Sis­terLove hon­ors 20 HIV+ women from around the coun­try who have been HIV pos­i­tive for 20 years or more. This com­mu­nity-ori­ented hon­ors cer­e­mony cel­e­brates the be­lief that these women pos­sess the rare hind­sight and fore­sight to help erad­i­cate the HIV/ AIDS pan­demic through their out­stand­ing lead­er­ship and ded­i­ca­tion. The an­nual kicks off to­day. Now com­mem­o­rat­ing 26 years of walk­ing and run­ning, the event con­tin­ues to raise much-needed funds for AIDS ser­vice or­ga­ni­za­tions in the metro At­lanta area. These or­ga­ni­za­tions pro­vide es­sen­tial programs and ser­vices for men, women, and chil­dren who are in­fected with or af­fected by HIV/AIDS.
