With a style that focuses on complete relaxation through holistic and restorative treatments, The Spa at ’Tween Waters has built a strong reputation for quality and exceptional service. Nestled quietly on the second level and overlooking the Serenity Pool at the ’Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa on Captiva Island, the full-service salon and spa and owner/operator Georgie Pailes have been pampering island spa-goers since 2008.

“We know the importance of providing an exceptional service every time to every client,” says Pailes. “I make sure everyone on my staff is at their best, that they know the products and are ready to give good services.” It is an approach that has worked well for Pailes, who began her career 19 years ago as an esthetician and massage therapist.

“Relaxation and well-being are at the heart of every vacation, and we cherish our role as the place to come and make that happen,” she says.

The spa has a subtle and natural décor. Playing off Mother Nature’s hues and warm tones, the fossil-imprinted lobby floor, bamboo ceilings and fresh flowers create a comfortable and welcoming vibe. Locals, repeat visitors and island newcomers who discover the spa are treated to a menu that goes beyond the ordinary, offering traditional services and unique treatments that you won’t necessarily find at other spas on the island.

The spa offers a full range of revitalizing services for men, women and juniors. “There is something for everyone,” comments Pailes, “with each and every service aimed at allowing our guests to relax and rejuvenate their mind, body and soul.” A popular service offered for relaxation is massages, a variety of which are available and performed by

Pailes’s highly trained technicians. Traditional relaxation, deep tissue, stone, or the specialty Thai massage are the house favorites. For something extra special, bring a friend or partner and together enjoy the private suite exclusively designed for couples.

Something that is unique to our spa.”

every shade of the color spectrum, including long-lasting shellac. “The shellac is one of our most popular manicures,” Pailes notes, “the staff is Cnd-certified, ensuring a professional application for our clients.”

The spa is particularly popular with bridal parties that come to Sanibel and Captiva for island and beach weddings. “We have a whole team for weddings that includes four to five hairstylists and makeup artists,” she points out. Keeping up with what’s current on the beauty scene is important to Pailes and her team. Airbrush makeup, a silicon-based foundation that goes on more naturally, lasts longer, and is ideal for outdoor weddings is her go-to product. When it comes to hair, the spa is equipped to do everything from cut and color to highlights and updos.

“We also travel,” says Pailes with a smile. “We love bringing the spa experience to you.” For weddings and special events, Pailes and her team will bring their talents and experience to any location on Captiva or Sanibel. “We have worked with brides for months leading up to their wedding. The excitement is contagious, and there is nothing more fulfilling than being a part of that special day,” she says.

The luxury of being the only freestanding spa on Captiva is not missed by Pailes. “When we built the new building in 2009 to house the spa, our business took off.” She knows that over the years, it has been her dedicated staff and the quality of service they provide that has made The Spa at ’Tween Waters a success. “We’re like a family. We know the clients by name and we make them feel welcome and comfortable.
