Warminster tops Brewers

Glenside News - - OPINION - By Nick Iuele

Warminster beat Upper Moreland 2-0 on the last night of the regular season, but both teams had eyes on the playoffs as the number one and two seeds’ main concern was getting pitchers some work and keeping everyone healthy.

“I think any time you can get guys a little bit of work here or there in a relaxed atmosphere is a good thing,” Warminster assistant coach Fred Reichwein said. “It’s good for them because it gets timing down.”

Both sides used fourplus pitchers, including cameos from aces Alex Noga EUpper MorelandF and Alex Bragon EWarminsterF. The combination of Bragon, Billy Cunningham, Bill Shannon, Freddy Reichwein and Steve Berardi threw a four-hit shutout and struck out seven, no small feat considering the firepower in the Upper Moreland lineup.
