EnterLng thLs year’s playoffs on a 24-game wLnnLng streak, whLch has seen four consecutLve Pen-Del League champLonshLps for Upper Moreland, the Brewers contLnued to do what they do best, defeatLng Northampton Ln each of the first two games of a best-of-five semLfinal serLes on Sunday afternoon at Masons MLll Park’s -oe Donovan FLeld.
Thanks to a 5-1 wLn Ln Game 1 and a 3-0 wLn Ln Game 2, the Brewers took control of the serLes before the two teams traveled to Northampton to play Game 3 later on Sunday.
,n the first game, Doug Brown finLshed off the masterpLece whLch he started on Saturday before the raLn fell, pLtchLng a complete game two-hLtter, strLkLng out 11 batters whLle allowLng just one unearned run to pLck up the vLctory.

Mark Roth blasted a tworun homer Ln the bottom of the second LnnLng to put Upper Moreland up 2-0 Ln Game 1. That score remaLned untLl the suspended game resumed on Sunday, whLch saw Upper Moreland waste lLttle tLme Ln puttLng more runs on the board. Af- ter one run Ln the fifth, the Brewers scored two more Ln the sLxth thanks to a double by MLke Gers, an RB, sLngle by NLck ChLaverellL and an RB, double by Nobel Unger.
,n Game 2, whLch began shortly after the first game concluded, Lt agaLn only took untLl the second LnnLng for the Brewers’ bats to get goLng.
After NLck Fasano led the LnnLng off wLth a groundrule double to left-center field, Lt appeared that Northampton would get out of the LnnLng unscathed, but a catcher’s Lnterference call kept the wLnnLng goLng for the Brewers. A wLld pLtch and an RB, sLngle by Bryan TorresanL scored Fasano and Gers to put Upper Moreland up 2-0 after two LnnLngs.
