Cheltenham announces interim principal for Myers Elementary
Cheltenham School District formally announced Aug. 27 that William Kiefer, former Cheltenham Township superintendent, will be interim principal of Myers Elementary School. Former Myers Principal Andrew Kuhn is now the principal at Cheltenham High School.
Kiefer was the superintendent of Cheltenham School District from 2006 to 2010. He has more than 30 years of experience in education, including as a teacher, psychologist, early childhood coordinator, elementary and secondary school principal and superintendent of the Hamburg Area School District.
He holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees from Millersville University and a doctorate in education from Walden University.
He will remain the interim principal at Myers until an official appointment is made for the position.
“I am delighted to serve as the interim principal of Myers Elementary School,” he said in a recent letter to parents. “It is an honor to have the opportunity to work with this extraordinary faculty and staff and the Myers community. Although my time at Myers will be temporary, I intend to make this time a seamless transition of school leadership. You can depend on Myers to continue providing learning excellence in a safe and caring environment.”
