Cheltenham Center for the Arts has opened its newest exhibit, “Currents in MetalsW The Jeweler’s Art,” which features 20 artists from the Pennsylvania Society of Goldsmiths will exhibit their craftsmanship.
The exhibit showcases the work of the members of the Pennsylvania Society of Goldsmiths, a 40-year-old organization supporting the development of metalsmithing and art jewelry.
Works are created utilizing a range of materials and metals including Lucite, latex, found objects and more. Artists will display not only their finished work, but works in progress, prototypes, working sketches and examples of the metalsmith’s process so that the visitorcanexperiencetheintricacies and details of the work.
The exhibition will continue from through Sept. 30. Gallery hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
