Brehm Wins Tour Winco Port­land Open, Earns PGA Tour Card

The first 25 of 50 avail­able PGA TOUR mem­ber­ship cards for the 2016-17 sea­son were se­cured last Sun­day at the Tour’s fi­nal Reg­u­lar Sea­son event, the Winco Foods Port­land Open pre­sented by Kraft Heinz, con­tested on the Witch Hol­low Course at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club. For­mer Michi­gan State golfer Ryan Brehm, who spent 2014-15 on the Macken­zie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada be­fore earn­ing his Tour card via a T5 fin­ish at the 2015 Qual­i­fy­ing Tour­na­ment, won the Winco Foods Port­land Open by one shot over Mark An­der­son with a fi­nal-round 68 that pro­pelled him from No. 30 to No. 4 on the money list. Brehm, who briefly worked as an as­sis­tant coach and in­terim head coach at Michi­gan State fol­low­ing his col­lege golf ca­reer, will be a rookie on the 2016-17 PGA TOUR.
