LETTER FROM THE EDITOR- IN- CHIEF
With summer on the horizon and warmer days finally here, late spring is a time to get out and have some fun! For some, that means taking in the Costume Institute’s annual exhibition (this year’s show about Rei Kawakubo looks positively spellbinding); for others, it means taking in a game. And this season, in true New York fashion, the playing field is generating some real buzz. Cover star Noah Syndergaard—aka Thor—has given such a spectacular burst of energy to the Mets, and it’s not just because his six-foot-six frame and blond locks bring Chris Hemsworth’s Marvel superhero to mind. As one very important part of the Mets’ star pitching lineup, Syndergaard is the picture of calm, cool, and collected as he tells us all about his plans for National League domination. (Also, look out for his Game of Thrones cameo!)
This issue is filled with endless ways to truly enjoy our city this season. New boutiques are popping up everywhere from the Upper East Side (Edie Parker) to Soho (Veronica Beard) to Flatiron (Want Apothecary). We explore a resurgence of activity in Mepa, and bring you inside some of the best fitness studios in the city, including Rumble (because boxing is totally #trending).
And when you need a break from the flurry of springtime fun in the city, it’s time to dash off to the Hamptons. We close out the issue with a big, glorious portfolio of the hottest real estate on the East End and the brokers to know. Enjoy spring in the city—and get ready for summer in the Hamptons!
