The “Legends of Texas” music festival takes place annually in May to help raise money to support the Pound House.

In May of 2007, the festival featured music from Michael Myers, Brandon Rhyder, Wade Bowen, Roger Creager and Larry Gatlin. Other legendary musicians including Ray Benson from Asleep at the Wheel and Johnny Gimble who played with Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys have been featured at past festivals.

Plan to come out for the day-long event in 2008. Enjoy outstanding music, choose from an array of Texas food, bid in the silent auction — and much more.

Legends of Texas Swing draws about 4,000 music lovers each year. The event is organized each year by the Friends of the Pound House Foundation. Seating is typically limited.

Sponsorships of the fundraiser are always welcome and can be made by emailing Darrin Creech at darrin.creech@wellsfargo.com. Businesses that sponsor the event can get impressive mileage out of group advertising.
