Fall Fest, a cel­e­bra­tion of pi­o­neer life with demon­stra­tions, tours and ac­tiv­i­ties ben­e­fit­ting the Pound House, will be held on the mu­seum grounds Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a chance for the en­tire fam­ily to ex­pe­ri­ence early Texas life. Fall Fest in­cludes:

Demon­stra­tions of early pi­o­neer crafts and skills;

Art projects and games for kids in­clud­ing the washer toss and sack races;

Great mu­sic all day in­clud­ing per­for­mances by Michael My­ers, the Hill Coun­try Com­mu­nity Band, and the Lost John Cas­ner Band;

Chil­dren’s stage fea­tur­ing Michael and John Doucet, Goof Proof Jug­gling, sto­ry­teller Lisa Baker, Dragon­fly Com­mu­nity Per­form­ers, and More than Span­ish;

On-the-spot ap­praisal of your an­tique trea­sures by Cyndi Brown and Dot­tie Oak­ford of Hid­den Trea­sures for a $5 do­na­tion per item (all of pro­ceeds to ben­e­fit the Pound House); and

Bar­be­cue and other great food in­clud­ing hand­ground cof­fee and pound cake.
