Lee Health CEO/president Jim Nathan left his role in May. Dr. Larry Antonucci assumed the leadership position in June.

TOTI Media: Why leave? Jim Nathan: “After serving as Lee Health CEO for most of the last four decades, a role that is very much a 24/7 responsibility, I found myself slowing down a bit and felt that was a signal to prepare the leadership and the organization for effective succession and transition.” TM: Best part of your job? JN: “I have always seen my role as an enabler. So the best part of my job has been being associated with people who perform miracles every day and night.” TM: Biggest challenge in health administration? JN: “Strengthen community collaboration and find ways to reduce care fragmentation.”

TM: Advice to your successors? JN: “Continue reducing fragmentation in care delivery, while focusing on constant improvement in quality and operational efficiency. Additionally, partner with community organizations to help provide education and activities focused on living healthy lifestyles.”

Making Waves is our salute to the residents, businesses and organizations of Southwest Florida’s island coast who make the community special
