A graduate of the French Culinary Institute, Ong is an editor and writer focused on food and travel. He has contributed to The New York Times, Bon Appétit, and Gotham. He dishes on the burgeoning food scene in Greenport (page 130) for this issue.

Favorite Hamptons restaurant, bar, or café: Commander Cody’s on Shelter Island is by far my favorite Hamptons restaurant because of one item: the fried chicken. The space is completely unassuming, the staff is nice but unpredictable at times (don’t be surprised if they tell you there’s no food left when it’s busy), and the seafood is local. But the fried chicken is what keeps me coming back. When do you know it’s summer? When oysters and Champagne make for a perfect dinner.
