Witches And Tombstones Tours
The Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum’s Witches and Tombstones tours will be held Oct. 27 and 28.
The 90-minute, timed tours leave every 45 minutes starting at 10 a.m. The cost is $18 per person. Advance tickets go on sale Sept. 25 and may be purchased at https://webb-deane-stevens.org/ witches-and-tombstones-tours-2.
The tours will begin in the museum’s Stevens House, where visitors step into the parlor set up for the wake of little Henry Stevens, who perished in 1828 at age 3. The next stop is the Wethersfield Ancient Burying Ground, with Henry Stevens’s tiny headstone and those of his father and mother, and the final resting places of the victims of Connecticut’s first mass murder. The last stop is the circa 1714 Buttolph-Williams House for tales from the notorious Wethersfield witch trials.
