Plant prop­a­ga­tion work­shop of­fered April 29 at UHH

The Col­lege of Con­tin­u­ing Ed­u­ca­tion and Com­mu­nity Ser­vice at the Univer­sity of Hawaii at Hilo is of­fer­ing Plant Prop­a­ga­tion FUN­da­men­tals with ecol­o­gist, hor­ti­cul­tur­ist and land plan­ner Zach Mer­mel from 9 a.m.-noon April 29 at the For­est TEAM Green­house on the Manono Cam­pus. Tu­ition is $35. This hands-on work­shop will cover the ba­sics of plant prop­a­ga­tion, in­clud­ing va­ri­etal se­lec­tion, prop­a­ga­tion tools, root­ing-out en­vi­ron­ment and other meth­ods for rapidly ex­pand­ing the plant bio­di­ver­sity for gar­dens, home­steads or farms.
