Born in Honomu, she was a state schools cafe­te­ria helper, mem­ber of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Foster Grand­par­ents Pro­gram, tu­tor­ing spe­cial ed­u­ca­tion stu­dents at Wa­iakea Ele­men­tary and Hilo Union schools.
