Small brush fire quickly ex­tin­guished

Fire­fight­ers quickly ex­tin­guished a small brush fire that ig­nited Tues­day af­ter­noon near the Henry Street and Queen Kaahu­manu High­way in­ter­sec­tion in Kailua-Kona. The Hawaii Fire Depart­ment re­sponded to the brush fire about 12:40 p.m. When crews ar­rived, they were able to smother the flames within five min­utes. It burned a 40-by-40-yard area of brush. There were no re­ported in­juries. The cause of the fire is un­known.
