Learn about photo crop­ping, com­po­si­tion

Com­po­si­tion and crop­ping will be the fea­tured top­ics at 6 p.m. to­day dur­ing the next meet­ing of the Hawaii Photo Shoot­ers in Room D-202 at the Ko­mo­hana Agri­cul­ture Re­search & Ex­ten­sion Cen­ter.

Club mem­ber Ken Jackson will talk about com­po­si­tional rules, fo­cus­ing on us­ing frames, lead­ing lines and sym­me­try. He also will dis­cuss prac­tic­ing, mod­i­fy­ing or even break­ing these rules to give new vis­ual life to im­ages.

Nancy Chaney’s pre­sen­ta­tion, “Cre­at­ing Bet­ter Pho­to­graphs Through Crop­ping,” is for those who strug­gle with in-cam­era com­po­si­tion.

Mem­bers and guests are in­vited to bring up to three un­cropped im­ages. Chaney then will demon­strate how she would crop them. In ad­di­tion, Chaney will dis­cuss how to back up im­ages to the cloud.
