Man ar­rested for al­leged stab­bing

A Puna man was ar­rested Wed­nes­day af­ter he re­port­edly stabbed a man in the neck at a Puna sub­di­vi­sion.

Hawaii po­lice re­sponded at 12:26 a.m. to re­ports of a stab­bing at­tack at Hawai­ian Par­adise Park. The vic­tim, a 34-year-old Puna man, was found with mul­ti­ple stab wounds to the neck.

The vic­tim was trans­ported to Hilo Med­i­cal Cen­ter in se­ri­ous but sta­ble con­di­tion, be­fore be­ing medi­vaced to The Queen’s Med­i­cal Cen­ter on Oahu for fur­ther treat­ment.

The sus­pect, iden­ti­fied as 32-yearold Michael Po­tee, was ar­rested and charged with sec­ond-de­gree as­sault. Po­tee re­port­edly shared a home with the vic­tim.

The po­lice in­ves­ti­ga­tion into the in­ci­dent is on­go­ing.
