Man charged with business burglary
Police charged a 29-year-old Pahoa man in connection with a Thursday burglary of a vacant business building in Hilo.
At 11:50 p.m. Thursday, officers spotted a man in a pickup parked between a shipping container and the fence line of a business on Silva Street. Police also discovered the fence was cut and the door to the business was kicked in.
Several items taken from the vacant business were allegedly in the bed of the pickup.
Police arrested Nicholas Blackwell and he was charged Saturday with second-degree burglary. His bail was set at $2,000 and his initial court appearance was Monday.
