Oahu golfers col­lect wins on Big Isle turf

Kai­ley Oki had the best fin­ish among Big Is­land com­peti­tors at the 14 & Un­der Ju­nior Tour Se­ries tour­na­ment on Sun­day at Mauna Lani, plac­ing sec­ond in the girls 13-14 divi­sion.

At the Hawaii State Ju­nior Golf As­so­ci­a­tion event, Oahu eighth grader Fer­rari Du­doit shot an 8-over 78-74—152 to­tal to beat Oki, a Hilo fresh­man, who carded an 11-over 80-75—155 to­tal.

It was the deep­est field with 10 golfers, and Oahu golfers claimed medal­ist ti­tles in four of the five di­vi­sions; Kauai won the other flight in the two-day tour­ney.

In the girls 13-14 flight, Oahu’s Jen­nifer Seo was third at 13-over 80-77—157, fol­lowed by Maui’s Pay­ton Shimizu, +21 85-80—165; Oahu’s Jolie Chee, +21 85-80—165; Oahu’s Chloe Jang, +23 84-83—167; Hilo’s Chanelle Hwang, +27 90-81—171; Hilo’s Elle Otani, +27 85-86—171; and Oahu’s Eu­nice Han, +54 103-95—198.

In the girls 11-12 flight, it was Oahu’s Teal Mat­suda, +2 77-69—146; Hilo’s So­phie Christo­pher, +31, 92-83—175; and Oahu’s Laura Seo, +48 96-96—192.

In the girls 7-10 flight, it was Kate Nakaoka, +12 79-77—156; Ire­land Roberts, +21 82-83—165; Honorine Nobuta, +31 93-82—175; and Mia Nakaoka, +60 106-98—204. All are from Oahu.

In the boys 13-14 flight, it was Oahu’s Joshua Hayashida, +7 80-71—151; Waikoloa’s Ethan Jaehn, +11 83-72—155; Hilo’s Dy­sen Park, +12 80-76— 156; Oahu’s Mar­shall Kim, +12 78-78—156; and Oahu’s Lenny Oshiro, +36 91-89—180.

In the boys 11-12 flight, it was Kauai’s Kade Kikuchi, +17 82-79—161; Maui’s Ben Caf­fe­rio, +21 83-82—165; Hilo’s Noah Otani, +21 81-84—165; Oahu’s Tyler Ta­may­ori, +22 83-83—166; Oahu’s Justin Todd, +32 92-84— 176; Hilo’s Jake Otani, +41 94-91—185; Kona’s Kat­suhiro Ya­mashita, +45 94-95—189; and Keaau’s Kaha‘iolelo Helm, +69 102-111—213.
