How often does one get to meet a living legend? Honolulu-based artist, art consultant, and gallerist Kelly Sueda, could not have been more excited to meet Irving Blum for feature "Th e Importance of Being Irving" on page 102. “Talking with Irving about the very artists whom I 've studied and ultimately borrowed/ stolen ideas and concepts from throughout my career was fascinating,” Sueda says. “I felt I had climbed into Doc Brown's DeLorean and gunned it to 88 to visit Andy ( Warhol) at his studio in the 1950s.” When not interviewing living legends, Sueda curates both private and public spaces. His recent projects include the Yayoi Kusama pumpkin at Ala Moana Center and curating more than 500 original works for the Park Lane condominium properties.
