Pink Tie Ball
At this year’s Pink Tie Ball, guests helped the Susan G. Komen organization— now in its 35th year of saving lives— work towards its goal of reducing the current number of breast cancer deaths in the U. S. by 50 percent within the next decade. This year’s 6th- annual event in Hawai‘ i was held at the appropriately pink Royal Hawaiian Hotel and honored Darlena Chadwick, MSN, MBA, FACHE and Vice President of Patient Care at Queen’s Medical Center. Chadwick is well respected in the health care industry for her commitment to cancer patients. Seventy- five percent of the proceeds from the Pink Tie Ball stays in Hawai‘ i, enabling local hospitals and agencies to provide breast health services.
