Opened ear­lier this year, The Royal Hawai­ian Bak­ery cap­ti­vates all who seek a sweet treat. Na­tion­ally cel­e­brated Ex­ec­u­tive Pas­try Chef Carolyn Por­tuondo presents a range of con­fec­tionar­ies from the ho­tel’s famed ba­nana bread to freshly made desserts in­clud­ing Koloa pineap­ple-roasted coffee cake and Hawai­ian vanilla cus­tard brioche.

Culi­nary con­nois­seurs search­ing for an im­mer­sive ex­pe­ri­ence are in­vited to join in a two-day Epicurean Jour­ney crafted by Ex­ec­u­tive Chef Colin Hazama and the Royal chefs. Show­cas­ing the com­bined tal­ent and multi-cul­tural tra­di­tions of the culi­nary team along with the lo­cal, in­dige­nous in­gre­di­ents of Hawaii, guests will de­light in ex­tra­or­di­nary cui­sine and breath­tak­ing oceanfront views.

Of­fered quar­terly, each Epicurean Jour­ney starts on a Fri­day with sun­set cock­tails and amuse bouche, fol­lowed by a mouth-wa­ter­ing multi-course din­ner paired with new world wines and spir­its to com­ple­ment. The fol­low­ing morn­ing, guests will en­joy an en­gag­ing hands-on cook­ing les­son led by the Royal Hawai­ian chefs and a spe­cial guest from the agri­cul­ture com­mu­nity. Later a huk­i­lau-style lunch will be served to com­plete the ex­cep­tional two-day ad­ven­ture. Up­com­ing Epicurean Jour­neys are Septem­ber 29 and 30; and De­cem­ber 15 and 16.

For dis­tinc­tive din­ing through­out the year, Azure Restau­rant of­fers the tasti­est seafood on the is­land with hand­picked $ $ $ ! %&$ earned a strong fol­low­ing due to its in­trigu­ing din­ner menu, art­fully pre­pared by Chef Shay­mus Al­win, which fea­tures del­i­ca­cies such as Kona lob­ster, Kauai shrimp, Hokkaido scal­lops, and for beef-lovers, Hawaii Rancher’s rib­eye.

Be­fore or af­ter din­ner, pa­trons visit the Mai Tai Bar, home of the orig­i­nal Mai Tai. With nightly en­ter­tain­ment com­ple­ment­ing the sound of the surf, it is the ideal place to be­gin or end an evening.

Those look­ing for a true pa‘ina (party) will feast on an elab­o­rate buf­fet and ex­pe­ri­ence the ex­cite­ment of Waikiki’s only beach­front luau dur­ing ‘Aha Aina, a Royal Hawai­ian Luau, held Mon­days on the Ocean Lawn.
