Water main break geyser soaks building
The Honolulu Board of Water Supply was expected to work late into Friday evening repairing a water main in Waipahu that residents’ videos showed spewing water on an apartment building.
The Board of Water Supply said crews were repairing the 8-inch main at 94-113 Pupupuhi St. that ruptured at 11 a.m. Friday.
Water service to 24 customers was expected to be restored Friday night.
BWS said it took at least an hour for crews to get to the scene and slowly turn the water off to prevent other breaks or other problems.
