Motorcycle rider critical after accident
A 35-year-old man was taken in critical condition to a hospital early Friday after he was thrown from his motorcycle in Pearl City.
At about 1:20 a.m., police said, the man was traveling west on Kamehameha Highway just pass Kuala Street at a “high rate of speed.” He lost control of his motorcycle, then veered onto a grassy median and back onto the roadway when he was thrown from his motorcycle onto the road.
Police said he was wearing a helmet.
Excessive speed was a factor. It’s unknown whether alcohol was involved.
