Tickets for the Feb. 10 debut of a new local American Basketball Association professional franchise, the Hawaii

Swish, go on sale at 9 a.m. today at the Blaisdell Box Office.

The Swish have scheduled an abbreviated six-game slate — with the idea of a full go next season — starting with the Yuba City Goldminers at the Blaisdell Arena.

The team is comprised partly of former University of Hawaii players, including owner/guard Geremy Robinson, point guard Miah Ostrowski and guard Jason Carter. It is cocoached by ex-Rainbow Warriors Johnny White and Artie Wilson.

“First thing we want to do is put on a good show, and win in the process for the fans in Hawaii,” Robinson said. “I feel the community has been long awaiting for this to happen. It’s been a tease for so long. Now the ship is finally going to be sailing. Now it’s up to the team to take care of business on the floor.”

Hawaii’s past ABA ventures — including the recently moved Hawaii Hammerheads — were short-lived and never played in a venue the size of the Blaisdell.

Tickets (for the opener only) are $10 for adults; $7 for current and retired military members as well as senior citizens (62-over); and $6 for students.

For more information, including the rest of the schedule, visit the team’s Facebook page at www.SwishHawaii.com.
