A Swedish tele­vi­sion show has taken no­tice of chef Ernesto Lim­caco at Burg­ers and Things, declar­ing his burg­ers the best in the is­lands.

The show “Varldens Basta Bur­gare” — “World’s Best Burger” — hosted by Stockholm-based celebrity chef Jo­han Jureskog, has been tour­ing the United States, with Jureskog eat­ing his way through lo­cal restau­rants in search of the best.

He vis­ited five to seven Hawaii restau­rants (the show holds the ex­act num­bers and names se­cret), declar­ing Burg­ers and Things to be the best, Lim­caco’s busi­ness part­ner, El­iz­a­beth Hata-Watan­abe, said. The chef was then in­vited to cook against Jureskog in a show taped in Novem­ber in a pri­vate home along the Hawaii Kai ma­rina. A panel of chefs pre­ferred Lim­caco’s Doe a Deer Burger, made with Maui veni­son. Hata-Watan­abe said the results had to be kept se­cret un­til now; the show will air in Swe­den in the next few weeks. Jureskog him­self is a vet­eran of cook­ing com­pe­ti­tions in Swe­den and Europe. He rep­re­sented his coun­try in the 2015 World Burger Cham­pi­onships held in Florida.
