2 are ar­rested in sep­a­rate as­sault cases

Po­lice made ar­rests in sep­a­rate as­sault cases late Fri­day night.

At about 10:20 p.m., a 40-year-old man al­legedly as­saulted a 48-year-old man in Waipahu with an un­spec­i­fied “dan­ger­ous in­stru­ment.”

Shortly af­ter 12:40 a.m. Satur­day, an of­fi­cer found the sus­pect on Pahu Street and ar­rested him on sus­pi­cion of sec­ond-de­gree as­sault.

At about 11:50 p.m., po­lice said, an ar­gu­ment es­ca­lated be­tween two men in Waikiki. Po­lice ar­rested a 34-year-old man af­ter he al­legedly as­saulted a 41-year-old man.

Po­lice were called and the younger man was ar­rested at the Sher­a­ton Waikiki on sus­pi­cion of sec­ond-de­gree as­sault and third-de­gree as­sault.
