PHOTOS COURTESY ATLANTIS ADVENTURES

From top: The cruise ship Majestic offers a Fireworks Cruise on Friday evenings. Guests gather in the lounge to enjoy hula and live music.

The Majestic’s buffet and dining areas. Below, the cruise ship sails past Diamond Head. At sunset, guests might glimpse the green flash, where the sun drops below the horizon. The atmosphere acts as a prism, refracting or bending the light into various colors, much the same way rainbows are formed. Since green light bends the most, more of that color is transmitted and therefore can be seen when conditions are right.
