Just 68 years old, Paul is a grad­u­ate of Hilo High School Class of 1967. Paul was born Au­gust 10, 1949 to Sei­ichi and Tot­sue Mat­suda (de­ceased). Paul is sur­vived by son Joshua Mat­suda, step­son Jesse Su­d­er­man, "Sweet­heart" Va­lerie Fugere, god­daugh­ter Keren Siket, sis­ter Jean Young (Robert), nieces Joy Cham­paloux and Jodie Young.

Paul is the Founder and Pres­i­dent of The Service Group Inc., a food bro­ker­age com­pany formed in 1979. De­voted Fa­ther, part­ner, busi­ness­man, friend, brother, un­cle, he is dearly missed. Paul was a friend and teacher to all re­mind­ing us what was most im­por­tant in life. Paul would al­ways say: "Two H’s Healthy and Happy". Stan­ley Goichi Higashi, 83, passed away on Septem­ber 8th at Hospice of Hilo Po­hai Malama Care Cen­ter. Born in Honolulu, he was a 1952 grad of Far­ring­ton High School, for­merly with the Hickam Air Force Base Ground­power Unit, re­tired from the US Fed Gov’t/ GSA/PBS Fed­eral Build­ing in Hilo. Sur­vived by wife, Mae (Mi­nakawa) Higashi, sons, Ster­ling (Vic­to­ria), Stu­art, and Steve (Yuko) Higashi; grand­sons, Do­rian and Dono­van Higashi; sis­ters, Flora Y., Irene J. and Carol S.
